We will continue to track and defend you from online threats, including the dark web, and build tools that help protect you and your personal information.”<\/p>\n Online discussions echoed this sentiment, with some users saying the alerts felt alarming but vague, often leaving them unsure which accounts were affected or what actions would meaningfully reduce their risk.<\/p>\n What Users Need To Know<\/strong><\/p>\n As part of the shutdown, Google confirmed that scans for new dark web data will stop on January 15, 2006. The feature will be fully removed on February 16, 2026, and all stored Dark Web Report data will be permanently erased from Google\u2019s servers on this date.<\/p>\n Users who prefer not to wait can delete their monitoring profiles earlier by visiting the Dark Web Report settings, editing their monitoring profile, and selecting \u201cDelete monitoring profile.\u201d<\/p>\n Google clarified that the Dark Web Report was only available to consumer Google accounts.
